Closet Space

One would think that moving from a condo to a house would give us more storage space. However, that doesn't seem to be the case! The bedroom closets were especially small, causing Jen some serious stress. While it was clear that there would not be room for the walk-in closet we were used to, we had to do something to make some more storage space.

In the master bedroom, we were able to expand the closet a bit by taking some space from the closet in the second bedroom. By opening up the wall, we were able to make the door a bit wider as well. The only question remaining: where is Dave going to put his clothes???

When I moved from my parents place to my condo I too tackled with the closet space issue. It's all about maximizing your invisible space. Closet organization is key and Canadian Tire and IKEA are your friends. Debbie Travis closet and organization stuff is really great.

Hi Karina! We'll definitely be looking into closet organization systems. We were hoping to be able to add an Ikea wardrobe to the master bedroom, but there just isn't enough space. Thanks for the Debbie Travis tip!

Hey guys! The other key is to measure very very well. We have some great built-ins in our closet courtesy of my father-in-law (love the housewarming gift!). However, there is a bit of wasted space in our already small closet becasue we didn't think out the shoe shelves and sweater shelves as well as we could.
