Getting Rid of the Green – Step Three

We lucked out with some good weather this past weekend!  With temperatures above 10°C and lots of sun, we decided to take the opportunity to prime and paint the area around our front door before the winter.

Our neighbours lent us a sample of the paint they used on the exterior of their house, so we took to it to Benjamin Moore to be colour matched.  We ended up with Seaspray, which was a pretty close match.

After one coat of primer, two coats of paint and some caulking, we were all done.  It looks so much better.

Here’s the before:

And here’s how it looks now:

Just a couple of more weeks! It's looking really good guys. I know it will all come together for you before you know it.

We were by the other day but you weren't around. We snooped around a bit and are really impressed with how far you've come.

Reno aside, Honey and I are just glad you'll be our neighbours soon!

Looks great! How long did it take you to strip that paint with a heat gun? We have a similar project on our to do list, so I'm curious how much time is involved.

Hi Vez. Stripping the paint was a bit of a pain. In the flat areas, it came off pretty easily, but in the curved or decorative spots, it was really tough. It took us a few days (and some patience!) Good luck.
